No Stone Unturned: Read my article in Country Gardens magazine

January 17, 2020

Are you ready for spring, fellow gardeners? It’s that time of year for dreaming over plant catalogs and gardening magazines. Just in time comes the new issue of Country Gardens, which I’m pleased to say includes an article I wrote about a creatively designed garden in Rhode Island.

“No Stone Unturned”, on pages 48-55, shows just how much you can do with artistic stonework and shade-loving plants. In my interviews with owner Cathy Lawson and with the garden designers, Neil and Samantha Best of Magma Design Group, I was impressed by the out-of-the-box thinking that went into the garden’s layout and wowed by the scale of the stone features that Neil constructed. The designers also shared tips on using stone in your own garden on a DIYer’s budget. I think you’ll enjoy reading about it.

Oh gosh, I can’t wait to read this and see the photos. I usually have read your article before you announce it. I wonder why I haven’t received my magazine.??? I have been anxiously watching for spring gardening magazines to come out but haven’t seen any around here yet. We are expecting single digit temps this week and minus wind chills for the first time this winter. I could use a nice warm spring magazine to look at. I am looking forward to it.
