Daylily sunshine with stars

June 03, 2010

A little sunshine, courtesy of ‘Wilson’s Yellow’ daylily

Yellow and blue, a classic combo, and a few colorful stars to brighten the wall.

Ever since seeing the movie Cast Away with Tom Hanks, though, I think of his “friend” Wilson, the volleyball, when I say ‘Wilson’s Yellow.’ It needs a better name.

I like the stars on your house. Those great wall expanses are difficult to deal with.

  2. Darla says:

Whay a lovely area….great colors! The red plant in the ninth photo is Monarda or Bee Balm..

  3. I like your agave and the shooting stars. 🙂

  4. Jenny says:

Such vibrant colors to go along with the heat.

  5. Pam, that looks great together, nice combo. That daylily is similar to the one that the squirrels dug up in my yard over the winter – now it makes me want to get another one. It’s gorgeous!

  6. David says:

Nice contrast of colors and shapes – wild and manufactured. Esp the daylily against the blue container w/ the agave.

I am certain I have this same daylily! Thanks to you, I now know its name. 😀 And I don’t think I’ll forget it with that great “Cast Away” mnemonic. That’s one of my favorite movies!

  8. Love the blue containers. Can you give us the details on their paint job?
They’re just blue glazed pots, CIMS. Probably Vietnamese. —Pam
