I’ve changed Digging’s email service

July 01, 2021

If you subscribe to Digging, you’ll notice that I’m using a new email delivery service. My updates from Digging will now arrive in your inbox from a follow.it address, and you’ll be asked if you’d like to continue subscribing, which I hope you will.

I’ve received some concerned emails from subscribers since my first post (about the children’s garden at Missouri Botanical Garden) was delivered via follow.it on Thursday. Yes, it is legitimate, and it’s from me. I’m sorry for the confusion and the inconvenience of having to reconfirm your subscription.

Why the change?

Google is discontinuing Feedburner, which I’ve used for many years, and I’ve had to migrate to another service. follow.it is a free service (for both you and me) that allows you to subscribe to Digging and get updates via email or push notifications on your phone. It has excellent reviews and offers handy options for customizing your subscription deliveries.

follow.it is being careful with the migration of subscribers’ email addresses, and that’s why they require you to confirm that you really do want to receive updates from Digging. This is a safety precaution on their part to make sure I’m not spamming you, and I understand the necessity. As always, I take your privacy very seriously, and your email address will never be shared or sold.

Want to subscribe and never miss a post?

If you don’t already subscribe to Digging and would like to, it’s easy and free! Here’s how: Simply click this link to my feed on follow.it and enter your email address under “Follow Digging.” Click on “Follow.” Then look for the confirmation email in your inbox. Check your spam folder if you don’t get it after a few minutes. Confirm that you’d like to subscribe by clicking the confirmation link in that email, and it’s done!

There are a couple of other ways to subscribe too. I like to provide multiple opportunities! If you’re reading this on your computer, in the right-hand sidebar you’ll see a box that says “Subscribe to Digging.” Enter your email, click “subscribe,” and then look for the confirmation email in your inbox. Check your spam folder if you don’t get it after a few minutes. Confirm that you’d like to subscribe by clicking the confirmation link in that email.

Or if you’re reading this on your phone, scroll up to the blue-green bar at the top of the page and click the RSS icon. It looks like three curved white lines, like a little half rainbow. Click it, and under “Follow Digging” enter your email and click “Follow.” Then look for the confirmation email in your inbox. Check your spam folder if you don’t get it after a few minutes. Confirm that you’d like to subscribe by clicking the confirmation link in that email.

Thank you for subscribing!

I’m grateful to each subscriber because I know it means you enjoy my posts and are getting something from reading my blog. As always, you can unsubscribe at any time (and no hard feelings!) if you decide you’d rather not receive the updates.
