Happy New Year wishes and gratuitous Cosmo pics

December 31, 2018

As you ring in the new year this evening, I am wishing you a happy year of gardening and garden visiting in 2019. May you have just enough rain, plenty of sunshine, and a garden of beautiful plants to enjoy!

My gardening buddy Cosmo sends you his New Year’s wishes for warm sunlight to lie in, squirrels to bark at, and grasses to nibble. Our little pup is now 10 years old, though still young at heart. I recently had these portraits made by the good folks at Zilker Bark (thanks, Chris!). Check out their Instagram for heartwarming doggo cuteness all year long.

And Happy New Year!

He is the cutest dog! What a photogenic dog. He’s smiling in the first photo, and I love dogs that smile.–Poodles are reputed to be extremely smart, and I’ll bet he’s no exception. Happy New Year, Cosmo and Pam!

    • Pam/Digging says:

Happy New Year to you and yours, Laura! Cosmo does have a poodle-ish look, but when we adopted him at 3 years old he was said to be a bichon frise mix. Whatever he is, we love him! As for extremely smart, well…let’s just say he’s no Einstein but gets along just fine. 🙂

You’re killing me with doggie cuteness! Happy New Year to the Penick household!

  3. Loree L Bohl says:

These are adorable, especially that last one, where he’s saying “okay, enough”… happy new year!

    • Pam/Digging says:

Right? The doggie portrait session was challenging but fun. He did good. Happy New Year, Loree!

  4. Heidi says:

What a handsome fellow, and the scenic background is perfect. The portraits are so well done, where were they taken? Wish our feline and canine family members didn’t age so quickly! Happy New Year, hope 2019 is a great one!

    • Pam/Digging says:

The portraits were made at Red Bud Isle, an off-leash park in West Austin. It was Cosmo’s first visit, and he loved it, as you can see. Happy New Year, Heidi!

  5. Kris P says:

His happy dogginess shines through – well, except in that last shot. I agree with Loree – he’s either had enough with posing or he’s awaiting his treat for putting on a good show. Best wishes for a splendid new year, Pam!

    • Pam/Digging says:

I love that last shot for his expression. It was his only “meh” moment. Happy New Year, Kris!

  6. Lisa at Greenbow says:

Oh my goodness, Cosmo is so handsome. What great photos. I wish you the same for this coming year. Happy happy and growing grand gardening.

  7. Jenny says:

Happy New Year, Pam. Cosmo really is a cutie and well deserved of the spotlight.
