Here are some images of the back garden.

Note that a Mexican plum is in leaf in front of the slide, where the smoke tree used to be. Beneath it, in flower, are Gulf Coast penstemons.

Dog’s-eye-view of the path through the trellis

In the photo above, purple verbena is blooming and red Texas betony is visible farther along the path. We’ve replaced the cheap metal trellis with a homemade one of copper pipes and wire. A star, or Confederate, jasmine climbs the left side; a sweet Autumn clematis twines up the right.
