Thanks! Digging earns two M&T nominations

April 16, 2008

The 2008 Mouse & Trowel Award finalists were announced yesterday, and I’m thrilled that you nominated Digging in two categories: Best Photography in a Garden Blog and Best Garden Blog Design. Many thanks indeed! I really appreciate the recognition, and I’d love to have your vote in the final round.

New bloggers and old favorites are represented on the ballot.

Now that spring is here, we’re all as busy as bees, but please make time to share a little Mousie love with your favorites.

Pam, I’d consider it a distinct honor to end up on the same ‘short list’ with you in any number of worlds.
What you bring to us, and so consistently, is generous, beautiful, thoughtful and fun.
    Namasté
David, to be listed in a photography category with you is a thrill. Thanks for your kind words. —Pam

    Dear Pam,
Congratulations on the nomination. You do a great job. The photo of the bee on the cone flower makes me feel as if I am right there watching it myself. I am a huge fan. I will pop on over and vote.
    Please keep clicking.
    Marsha
I will, Marsha. It’s too much fun not to keep clicking. Many thanks for your support, and for your kind comment. That means a lot! —Pam

  7. Lisa at Greenbow says:

Congratulations on the nominations. Well deserved.
I love these bee photos. I haven’t seen a bee in our garden as yet. I hope to tomorrow as I will
be home working in the garden.
Thank you, Lisa. And while you’re busy in the garden tomorrow, I hope you see some busy bees. —Pam

  8. Lisa at Greenbow says:

Pam, I just looked back at your photos. I do that sometimes, look quickly, post a comment then
go back and relish the photos… I realized that wasn’t a vine growing up the sun face that was
a lizard!… I am slow but sure. Love the photo even more with that lizard in it. 🙂
I’m glad you saw the lizard. I was struck by the way its tail curled around the sun person’s face, echoing its lines. —Pam

  9. Congratulations on the well-deserved nominations, Pam – and if there were a Mousie for best party organizer guess who should get it?
I think if you went to any of your readers’ gardens and took photos to post, the result would be a revelation not only for blog readers but for the owner. What an eye you have!
    Annie at the Transplantable Rose
Annie, thank you for your generous thought and kind words. Isn’t it too bad there isn’t a Mousie for best garden-blogger party? Then maybe everyone would be throwing them! 🙂 And by the way, congratulations to you too for your Mousie nomination. I’m glad to be your Austin neighbor. —Pam

  10. Ralph says:

Your blog certainly looks like a winner to me but it wasn’t clear to me at the link you provided how to actually vote. Do I just click? Have I already screwed something up? I suppose to be fair, I should actually inspect the other nominees but, heck, I found you first.
Thanks for your support, Ralph! I agree that the process is a little confusing. Just go to the link I provided, scroll to the bottom of the finalist page, and then click on “Blogging Categories” to find the ballot that Digging is on. At the bottom of the ballot, be sure to provide your email address so your vote will count. —Pam

  11. Brianna says:

I love the bee photos–I’ve been enjoying taking photos of the bees in my garden, too.
    Congrats on your nominations!
Thank you! Brianna, your photos are so lovely. I’ll have to go take a look at your bees. —Pam

  12. Diana Kirby says:

Congrats on the nominations – I’ve already voted 😉 … wish I could vote again. And I think they need another category besides Annie’s hostess suggestion — we should add event planner! My fingers are crossed for you.
Thanks for your support, Diana! —Pam

  13. Congratulations!
    Thank you, Linda. —Pam

  14. Bonnie says:

What wonderful news! I’ll go vote right now.
The garden-blogging events just keep on coming, don’t they? First Spring Fling, then the Mousies. What will we all do for fun next, I wonder? —Pam

  15. linda says:

Congratulations on the well-deserved nominations Pam!
    Many thanks, Linda. —Pam

  16. Jean Ann says:

love the pics! hard to say if I like the bees or the gecko more…color is outstanding!
I’m glad you enjoyed them, Jean Ann. It was an afternoon for noticing the little creatures. —Pam

  17. Frances says:

Hi Pam, a big congrats to you on the much deserved nominations. I had voted the first day and was worried when you said there was a bug and so went back yesterday morning to vote again, really to see if it would take another vote from my email address, and it did, so I figured the first one didn’t count. Then later in the day I checked again and this time the survey thing came up and let me vote even again, so now I assume the first two didn’t count. That is going to be confusing for people who thought they have already voted, but really didn’t get counted. I thought the having to go back to the podcast category was confusing also, what do you think? Have I messed up my votes getting counted?
Colleen has it all straightened out now. If you have concerns about your vote, I suggest emailing her directly. You can find her email address on the website. Congratulations on Faire Garden’s nomination, by the way. It’s well deserved. —Pam

  18. Cindy says:

Felicitations on the nominations, Pam! Your pictures are always awesome … next Fling, I think we need you to lead a class on garden photography.
Thank you, Cindy. But, oh, I’m way too much of an amateur to lead a photography class. The sum of my experience anyway would be: Take a ton of photos, crop, and only post the best ones. 🙂 —Pam

  19. laxpat says:

    I did it.
    Thanks for voting, Laxpat! —Pam
