Aurora Primavera joins the Austin blogging party

November 29, 2007

In the midst of my annoyance over the Blogger changes, I received an email from a new Austin garden blogger, Libby at Aurora Primavera, which immediately put me in a better mood. I love reading local garden blogs, and a new one always makes me happy.
Libby gardens in the same part of town as myself, on black gumbo clay, and she’s creating what she describes as a tropical/desert/Key West garden, full of native palms and agaves and tropicals. What fun! I can’t wait to see how it evolves.
By the way, the photo is of my sister’s small patio garden in Houston, which I helped design. It is filling in and looking great. It has no relevance to this post, however. It just looks pretty.

  1. Love that small patio of your sister’s, it looks very pretty and inviting. Nice use of colour too Pam!
What? Not another Austin garden blogger!!! Did they put something in the water to make all gardeners in Austin blog? 😉
It must be something in the water. Maybe it comes from Barton Springs, Austin’s famed swimming hole. 🙂 Seriously, my theory is that local blogging snowballs. Once you see that a couple of people are blogging about a particular topic, especially gardening, it makes you want to do it too. That happened to me after a couple of years of following Soul of the Garden and Zanthan Gardens. —Pam

I like lovely pictures even if they don’t reflect the written matter. It looks like a lovely place to sit and talk with your sister.
    Thanks, Lisa. —Pam

  3. Thank you for telling us about Aurora Primavera – the Key West look is very interesting.
Your sister’s patio does look pretty, Pam!

Thanks for the shout-out Pam. Your garden shot is v. appropriate; I’m feeling a tropical vibe there and Lord knows, Houston has the climate for it. Libby.
You’re welcome. And thank you for de-lurking and saying hi. —Pam

Another Austin blogger? Where are all the Indianapolis garden bloggers?? Surely, there are more than just me! If any come by here to comment, send ’em my way! (Though we are seeing a few more Indiana garden bloggers, like Robin, Lisa at Greenbow, Vonlafin…) By the way, your sister’s sitting area looks very inviting and pretty.

It’s crazy, isn’t it? Still, Carol, you are doing a wonderful job of representing all the Indianapolis gardeners, even if you’re blogging all by yourself up there. I do hope you’ll have company one day soon. —Pam
