I’m excited to be featured on WOW today! Founded by Lesley Stahl, Whoopi Goldberg, Candice Bergen, Lily Tomlin, and other well-known women in media, WOW — “The Women on the Web” — is an online network for women over 40.
Recently WOW asked me and six other garden bloggers to answer a few gardening questions. My sincere thanks to senior web editor Randi Bernfeld and to Halley Parry for including me on WOW’s gardening page!

Congrats Pam! I’ll hop on over and read your answers. I can’t think of a better person to participate in the survey. Thanks for id’ing my damselfly too. I hope to become better educated about them in the future if they continue to visit my little pond. It’s amazing that we’ve been on a moisture track this summer and yet Texas continues the drought conditions. We were right there will you last summer but this one is completely different ~ I think our local weatherman said it was going to go down as the wettest summer on record?? I hope things turn around and it becomes a bit more bearable. I’ll be jealous of your temps again this winter. Until then, at least you have a pool to cool off in now, right?!
PS I wonder why the jagged ambush bugs would be listed as beneficial predators on that Texas site? In my yard, I see them mainly preying on bumblebees, honeybees & butterflies. It would be interesting to know the reasons…

Congratulations on the invitation to participate! I enjoyed reading everyone’s answers. But where did they get the questions from? “Does organic gardening have to be expensive?” Er, no. Why should it be expensive? Bizarre!
