When a star falls to earth it becomes a water lily

June 15, 2014

Or so it seems to me. Happy Bloom Day, and happy Father’s Day to all you wonderful dads!

I’m joining other bloggers today for the Bloom Day meme. Visit May Dreams Gardens to see what’s blooming in other gardens around the world on this date. And don’t forget to join me tomorrow for Foliage Follow-Up!

This is a beautiful thought. Your ‘star’ is quite beautiful. Happy GBBD.

  2. Jenny says:

Happy Bloom Day Pam. So happy I have a water garden and that you shared your wonderful water lilies.

  3. Rose says:

What a lovely photo and lovely sentiment! Happy Bloom Day to you, Pam!

  4. I love that concept. We’ve had water lilies and water iris blooming all week. Our lilies are hardy and not quite as tropical looking as that lush pink. Mark is building a new garden gate and I am planting and transplanting so nothing got posted for GBBD.

  5. Such a beautiful photograph and thought. Happy Bloom Day!

Such a striking beauty – it could certainly be seen as both alien and terrestrial at once. Happy GBBD and Happy Father’s Day!

  7. Kris P says:

    Wonderful! Happy GBBD, Pam!

  8. Hope you’er having a great Bloom day. We’re checking out all the beautiful blooms in Florida this bloom day.

Happy GBBD. Fabulous shot of your fallen star! “Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.” Eskimo saying. Maybe your fallen stars are an additional reminder.

Beautiful – both photo and thought!

  11. Pam, I don’t want to buy your book from a retailer. I want to buy an autograohed copy. I like your style.

GBBD is a fun way to meet other garden bloggers. So, hello, you are always welcome in my gardens at Oh, Grow Up.

Hi, Patsy. I’m delighted that you’re interested in my book! I’m racking my brain to think how to autograph one for you. I don’t keep a stock to sell via mail order, although I do offer my books at talks that I do — but that won’t help you since you live far away. I would be delighted to send you a personally signed book plate for your copy though. Would that work? Send me an email; look for the “contact me” link at the top in my bio. —Pam
