Lawn Gone! book available for pre-order

July 22, 2012

After a fall and winter of writing and compiling photos and a spring and summer of editing and proofreading, I’m thrilled to announce that my upcoming book, Lawn Gone! Low-Maintenance, Sustainable, Attractive Alternatives for Your Yard, has a beautiful cover design and is now available for pre-order. I’ve installed a handy app called Browse My Books on my book’s Facebook page (Lawn Gone—please “like” it to receive book updates and alt-lawn inspiration) that lets you order directly from various outlets, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and others.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be on the brink of becoming a published author. And this opportunity would never have happened without YOU, dear reader—you and all who’ve read Digging over the years. Many thanks for your support, fellow Diggers!

I’m so excited for you, and really looking forward to reading your book. I have a front lawn right now, and want to get rid of it (or at least most of it), but want to have a constructive plan in place before I just start getting rid of it willy-nilly.

Alison, that’s exactly what I hope to help people with, with Lawn Gone!—coming up with a constructive plan, with plenty of inspiration along the way. —Pam

Pam, I wish I’d had your book as a reference three years ago, when we ripped up our dead front lawn and installed a garden. I expect I’ll want to re-do large swaths of my plot after reading it! I hope I’ll be able to get Lawn Gone! through a local bookstore like BookPeople, I’ll call and see if they can pre-order it for me.

Hi, Caroline. I certainly hope that BookPeople will carry it. I’m also hoping that our local independent nurseries and the Wildflower Center will carry it as well. —Pam
