Snow in Austin!

February 04, 2011

It snowed! We got about an inch overnight, and we’re all excited. Snow is so rare in Austin. The schools are closed, and we’re going out to throw snowballs with the kids, so here’s just a quick picture. I’ll have more later.
OK, so cold weather’s not all bad.

Wow, your stock tank and the surrounding area is beautiful blanketed in snow. Yeah, the cold weather isn’t bad especially since I get to be home for the day. The dog likes it too.–I can’t get her to come back inside. She wants to play in it.

I’m glad Sacramento isn’t THAT much like Austin. LOL You had snow last winter too didn’t you? I’ll admit that it is beautiful… until it starts to melt and becomes fugly. Spring IS coming!!

Beautiful photo! We only got about 1/2 inch at my house, but it is still very pretty!

I can feel your excitement. Have a great day making mini snowmen and maybe you can find a hill you can slide down. No sled?? Use cardboard.

How pretty at that manageable depth, though gloomy! Beargrass, Sotol, Live Oak and all our cacti look great in snow…up here, we get to see that a few hours after each of our several yearly snowfalls!

That looks gorgeous!! I think snow covered gardens are more refreshing than just the brown…enjoy your day and show us some snow ball thowing.

I will trade you — I’ll take your inch of snow and give you back an inch of ice!

Looks like lots of nice fluffy snowball fixins on top of that stock tank! Happy snow day.

Beautiful, I’ve seen snow in Dallas when I lived there many yrs ago. It is unusual where you are. Enjoy.
