Digging is for anyone who loves gardens, photos of beautiful plants, a sense of connectedness with nature, real-life plant info, design insights, how-to gardening tips, and virtual garden tours. Dirt-under-the-nails types and armchair gardeners alike will find plenty to enjoy here.

So do I! That's why I started Garden Spark. It's a speaker series featuring 3 to 4 talks each year by insightful designers, writers, and speakers in the field of garden design. Click for information about joining my mailing list for talk notifications. Seating is limited, but I give advance notice to those on my mailing list.

Would you like to learn more about the garden blogging community?

Garden Bloggers Fling, an annual meetup of garden bloggers from across North America and beyond, started right here in Austin in 2008. I headed up the planning team for the inaugural event, which included garden tours, nursery visit, speaker, blogging discussions, group dinner, prize giveaways, and fun happy hour in my garden. In 2018 I helped bring the Fling back to Austin for its 10th anniversary! If you're a garden blogger, click here for info about attending future Flings.

Austin's own garden blogging community holds regular get-togethers too. You’ll find posts about some of our field trips under Garden Blogging.

Whew! That’s enough to get you going. I hope you enjoy your visit to Digging and come back again soon!
