Eighteen years ago

May 26, 2008

Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of summer for many people. Here in Austin it feels like full summer already, with highs in the upper 90s and heavy humidity—good weather for boating on the lake or diving into Barton Springs Pool.

Memorial Day also marks a personal celebration for me and my DH. Eighteen years ago on this date, we got married. I bet’cha didn’t think I was old enough to have been married for 18 years! (wink)

Well, I am, and it’s been 18 years of laughter, fun, adventure, supportiveness, and love.

Happy anniversary, honey!

  1. Congratulations! At just under two years, I know that eighteen years of marriage is an impressive accomplishment. Best wishes, and you look like you couldn’t be married a day over five years. 🙂

Still drooling over that dang whale’s tongue agave, please stop posting pictures of it. 🙂

Pam, congratulations to you both! I always say that behind every “coupled” good gardener is a good spouse/companion, because after the sweat and the work, applause and support for your endeavor from the most important person in your life is like rich compost for your soul! I’ll never forget the days we were really broke and Greg gathered pennies to buy me Jill Nokes’s book for Christmas. With that gift, he acknowledged that my new adventure was significant. Hope you’re at Gruene Hall toasting!

Hi Pam, your garden is in peak form, and it sounds like your marraige is too. Many happy days ahead, you both chose well!

Congrats Pam. I love the new header. It really makes me want to change the GWI blog, maybe even to different software, but I dunno.

Happy Anniversary, Pam! I really like your new header. The purple coneflower is perfect for you, since it seems to bloom non-stop there.
The color of the winecup is breathtakingly beautiful.

I like the new header. And I’m sure you had to get your parents’ permission to get married that young. -)
